Off to State!

Bailey had an exciting day this past Saturday! During this past school year the 7th graders were a assigned project in history...they had to research someone in history (obviously...just don't recall the specifications of it), write a paper about them and do a poster board. This weekend was History Day competition and some of the kids decided to put their assignments in the competition. Bail and her group (3 girls total) decided to enter their project on General Custer for fun and ended up winning their division....woohoo!!!  From here they will go to a judging on the 14th to find out what the judges had to say and get tips to improve their board. From there they will go to State with their board the 1st weekend in April, and if they win at State they will go to Nationals in DC!! It's so exciting and we are so PROUD of Bail and her group...great job girls!!!!

Project Complete!

Yes, I have finally finished my 1st knitting project (two weeks ago actually)!! Isn't it cute??
Next project is matching mittens...scary!!

(Mostly) Wordless Wednesday

This is Nico sending off the Valentine's gift, that he bought with his own money (he even paid for shipping), for his "girlfriend" Sarah in Indy. So sweet isn't it and it was all his idea!

Mardi Gras

Bella is all ready to celebrate Mardi Gras Mr. T style...
Really she only wore one strand of beads to school but she wanted a picture with all of them on. She brought some for her classmates and the rest went to school with the big kids to hand out!
Amazingly, all of these beads are left over from our Mardi Gras trip to Mobile, AL last year. As a matter of fact we still have 3 shoe boxes full of beads even after today...I guess we're set for a few years!

This is Don & I last year at the Mardi Gras Ball. Actually, this is the only photo that I have of the 2 of us that evening because he was pretty sick and left right after this photo (you can tell by the look on his face that he wasn't doing well). The poor guy missed just about the entire Ball.

So Bummed

I have to say I'm so bummed out by the fact that I haven't had the time to blog in awhile...I miss it so much! I'm not sure about those of you that blog but when I sit down to write a post I need a good half hour or more to coordinate the ballet of blogging (get my thoughts together, fight distractions, upload photos, etc...), but the time has just not been there for me the past two weeks. Other then the normal distractions of family and such, I have been SO busy with our schools auction which is in three weeks. This auction has been a passion of mine since Bail was in Kindergarten...I started off  just helping out to quickly becoming a Co-Chair. This auction is the schools biggest fundraiser and a very fun affair, but lots of work. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that in the next few weeks my blogging will be few and far between, but please bare with me!! I will be back in full force once the auction is over because like I sad I miss my blog world!

Again, don't lose hope in me because I will be back to my normal blogging self soon! :)

25 Random Things About Me

I haven't posted in awhile because I've been busy and have had some writers block..the creativity hasn't been there. I am now a Facebooker and some people have tagged me on there to come up with 25 random things about myself. I have to admit that it was a very difficult task to accomplish but I finally did it, and I thought I would share the list with you as well.

Writing this list was almost therapeutic in a way...it really makes you evaluate yourself. I recommend that everyone should do this...as a matter of fact I challenge you all to do it, and once you do, leave me a comment in my comments as to where I can find your "LIST".

Here is mine....

1. My family is my everything! I have the best husband...he is a loving, caring, giving, compassionate, wonderful father, and amazing husband! I have truly been blessed!

2. I have the most amazing children and I'm SO PROUD of each one of them...I adore them!!!!

3. I was a vocal music major in college, but I don't feel that I have that great of a voice and won't very easily sing around others (low self-esteem).

4. I am very protective of my family, and I'm not just talking about Don & the kids, I'm talking my WHOLE family. It takes me some time to warm up to the outsiders. (Just ask Suzy & Kristy) :)

5. I wear my heart on my sleeve! This is not always a good thing. I tend to get my feelings hurt very easily.

6. I have had 4 C-Sections and wear my scar with pride (but not the sag...could totally do without that)

7. I LOVE accessories especially SHOES...the reason my hubby will be turning one of our closets into a shoe/handbag closet (that's not a sickness is it?)

8. I just learned to use my sewing machine this summer after owning it for over 4 years and la couple of weeks ago I learned to knit. (I must learn some skills for my old age)

9. I'm Catholic and support Catholic Education 100%

10. I have a hard time saying "no" which is why I'm on too many committees

11. I was a cheerleader in Jr. High, High School, & 1 year in college (then school got in the way)

12. I played volleyball and softball in high school from freshman year to junior year.

13. I'm very emotional and sensitive (refer to #5) and cry for everything...happy, sad, mad, you name it I can cry for it.

14.I'm addicted to my laptop....some of my family consider it another limb.

15. I REALLY miss my grandma (she was like a 2nd mother to me)! She has been gone for 3 years and there are still days that I go to call her and realize that I can't.

16. I HATE to cook but LOVE to bake!

17. I genuinely care about the welfare of everyone, even if we aren't close or friends. I worry about everyone and want to do what ever I can to help you fix it...I hate seeing anyone in turmoil.

18. I love living in Missouri but miss my MN (see you in July)! :)

19. Even though I complain about my hubby's profession/work hours (I would rather have him at home) I know we are fortunate for all of the perks and opportunities it brings to my family.

20. I'm very thankful for all of my friends. (past and present...all of you) :) Love you guys!

21. I am afraid of heights!!!!

22. I love taking photos but not good about doing much with them after. I do at least get them organized in iPhoto though.

23. I love ice cream

24. I think (no I know) I have ADD (self diagnosed)....I am very easily distracted. (This info would have been helpful when I was in school)

25. It's physically impossible for my to keep my bedroom clean for longer then a few days.
