I Have a Need for a Thoughts Machine!

All I have time want say is that we need to come together people and create a mechanism that I can put on my head that will put my thoughts in written form...seriously! I have the desire to blog, really I do, but my schedule has been SO RIDICULOUSLY CRAZY that all I seem to have time/brain power for is quick updates via Facebook. Which bums me out because this blog is my/our family journal and I missing some big thing here.

Hmm...what if I start blogging Facebook style...just come on here and give quick update/snippets of what's going on??? What do you think about that? I'm going to put up a poll and I want to hear from all of you on what you  think I should do?

Happy 7th Birthday Olivia

Outstanding
Loving
Imaginative
Vivacious
Intelligent
Athletic

I can't believe that yet another year has gone by already and now our Miss Olivia is 7 years old. Our little sweetie pie, Olivia, was born 7 years ago on May 13, 2002 as our smallest baby weighing 8lbs, 7oz., and has been a total joy to have in our lives ever since. She is a very sweet, loving, cuddly, passionate, caring, kind-hearted and energetic child that always has a smile on her face (with the exception of being woke up as stated in the bathroom post)!

She truly is a princess..
Happy 7th Birthday Liva Duece!!!
WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH OLIVIA!! We are so very proud of you and so thankful to be able to call you ours!!!

Self TP'ing

Update: So just a short time ago (12:05 am to be exact) the princess struck again. I was in the dining room covering 24 of the 72 cupcakes I made today (another story for another time), and I hear banging upstairs. I hear Don from the living room say "what the hell is that" and I reply with "oh no, she's at it again"! I run upstairs to find her in the bathroom that is under construction (hope the toilet's working) sitting on the pot. I hear that she finished and instruct her to "wait!!" while I get toilet paper. I get back, help her clean up, and out she walks to her room. But as she's leaving the bathroom I notice wet footprints...oh good Lord no she didn't, I thought. I demand her to stop and wait (thank GOD there is still plastic outside of the bathroom because of the demo) while I get something to clean her and send her back to bed. Off she goes and I turn around only to find a GINORMOUS puddle of pee all over the floor in front of the toilet (yes she got pee in the toilet too...I even heard that part)!

Did someone give this child a few IV bags of fluid today? I hope she is done for the night...I think we've she's had her fill for the day!
------------------

Miss Olivia has been known to wake in the middle of her slumber with the need to use the restroom. Now I know this is a normal need for many people but for this child it involves drama! Every single time she gets up she is completely disorientated and CRABBY (just like her mommy).

Let me set the stage for tonight's episode:

It's 10PMish, I'm talking on the phone with a friend about school stuff and I hear grumbling/whining coming down the stairs. I look up to see Liv rushing past me, through the kitchen on her way to the bathroom. As she's rushing past me I say, "honey what are you doing"? Liv, "unhh" and some form of babble/moaning/whining after. "Honey, do you have to go to the bathroom"? To which I get the same response, "unhh" babble/moan/whine. "Honey why didn't you just use my bathroom"? Again more of the same response.

Let me remind you that their bathroom is still under construction so I get that, but the master bathroom is on the opposite wall as theirs. So she climbed down her ladder, out the room, rounds the banister, down the stairs, through the foyer, past the family room, through the kitchen and into the bathroom. Or the other option would have been climb down the ladder, out the room, take a right and a quick left into the bathroom....yeah I can see how her option would be easier or not

She finishes up and walks out of the bathroom, through the kitchen, and into the family room while whining, moaning & groaning. As she's walking I notice something trailing behind her like a tail, not dragging but flapping in motion. As she approaches the family room and is throwing herself down on the couch I realize exactly what that was flapping behind her....yep you guessed it...Toilet Paper! Not only was it trailing behind her but wrapped around her and stuck in her PJ bottoms in various locations...like she had TP'ed herself!

I was laughing so hard and called Don in to help me with her because there was no way I'd be able to get her upstairs by myself. As he's coming into the room I start unraveling her only to find out that the TP was not dry...'nuf said. We were both laughing and wishing I had taken a photo...that would have been a good one for graduation day! :)

Obessed

Friday Night was supposed to be the start of Nico's baseball tournament but because of all the rain that we got that morning the fields were to wet to start. This allowed us Don & Tony to be able to do more work on the bathroom...which I can't wait to be able to share it with you because it is looking fab-u-lous!

The evening turned out to be beautiful so the kids were able to get some great play time outside with their friend Sophie and I was able to catch up with Aimee. After chatting we decided to head to the movies and check out Obsessed. Will it be a big award winning flick? Not so much, it was too predictable and too much like Fatal Attraction (which is far better). Am I glad I went to see it? Sure, it was a entertaining and the lead male, Idris Elba, is HOT!!!! Not to mention I was able to spend some time with my friend!

Another Crack Me Up Moment

I know you all are about ready to fall over...4 posts in one day...it's amazing what you can do with a little extra time!

So, the family is sitting down for dinner, and as I'm walking over to join them I'm putting my new necklace on from my mom. This is what comes out of Nicholas' mouth out of the blue, as I'm putting the necklace on:

"Every kiss begins with Kay" (He of course is singing it)

I just cracked up! First of all the necklace is not even from Kay's and second it was just so random!

Beautiful Necklace

I just received another Mother's Day gift! I sure am feeling really special...first I had a wonderful breakfast with Bella at preschool with the lovely plant & card from her, and now this...

My mom sent me this beautiful necklace with a pearl for each child on it and a very touching card!

Thank you so much mom I LOVE IT and I LOVE YOU!!!

Bella's Ear

Last week after bath time and the bedtime routine Bail comes trotting down the stairs (which is completely normal for my kids and drives my absolutely nutty) with half-hearted concern for her baby sister.

This is how the conversation went:

Bail: "Um mom"
Me: "Yes, what now?"
Bail: "Um, Bella just told me that One ear's on and one's off"
Me after I compose myself from giggling: "Just tell her to lay on the side of the off ear so the water can drain out"

Crack me up!!!

Bike, Walk, & Wheel

This morning I woke up at 6:15 am (and for those who know me know that I AM NOT a morning person), woke up the three oldest and we all got ready sporting our new lime green T's. The whole time I'm getting ready I'm hearing thunder in the distance. We head out the door to some light sprinkling, head down the road and the heavens open up. We make it over to the ARC, pause in the car only to her the DJ announce that our walk to school had been cancelled....what a BUMMER! We still trudge out of the car, head over to several other families already there, and join them dining on breakfast sponsored by HyVee of Bagels, donuts, fruit, juice & coffee. After about 15 minutes we then load back in the car and off to school we go!

These were taken in the car on the way to the event.
Bail noted how the clouds look like mountains in the distance. Very cool...

For several years now we have participated in the Bike, Walk, & Wheel program that is put on by the city that lasts for one week, and the program offers breakfast sites throughout town to make the commute a little more exciting. Each year our school opts for the last day of the event to participate and it's fun for the kids to ditch at least half of their uniform for the day. So even the the storm ruined the walk to school the kids at least were able to start their day with a healthy sugar filled breakfast & wear their brand new lime green T's, and mom was able to come back home and go back to bed...YEE HAW!!

Mother's Day at Preschool

This morning I was invited to Bella's preschool classroom for a Mother's Day breakfast that her teacher had made for us. It was very sweet and wonderful to be able to have that time with Bella. AND to sweeten the pot I get to enjoy a bonus half hour to myself out of this lovely morning....breakfast was from 7:30-8am and she doesn't normally start until 8:30, so I have 4 whole hours to myself!!

Bella enjoying her breakfast...
The yummy egg bake and we also had cinnamon bread and OJ...
Me & my little sweetie...
She painted this beautiful pot for me with lovely flowers...
The sweet card that she made for me
(apparently she's going by "II" now...we need to get cracking on writing her name)...
