8.85!!!

We most certainly had a lot on our platter this past weekend kicked off by Nico's game which kept us out unto 9:45PM. Once we got home the kids were sent to bed because we had an early morning ahead of us...early by weekend standards that is. I was up by 6:30, and if you know me at all I AM NOT a morning person, but I did well (yay me)! I had all the kids up, fed, out the door by 7:45 and on our way to Moberly for Liv's 2nd gymnastics meet ever...we had to be there by 8:30AM for warm-ups.

Here team's 1st event was the Vault which is her best event. She did awesome on her Vault, she scored an 8.85 earning her a blue ribbon. Her second event was Bars...just about every girl struggled in this event this weekend, but she still managed to get a score of 7.30 earning a white ribbon. These are the two events that she competed in in the last meet and if you'll note she brought her scores up in both...WAY TO GO LIV!!

After some encouragement by her Coach C and us she decided to compete on Beam and Floor. Liv was worried that she wouldn't remember the routine (she only goes 1 night a week and most of the others go 2 nights...so she doesn't get as much practice), but Coach C assured her that she could stand by Liv and coach her through it without Liv losing points...so that's what they did, and she did GREAT!

She scored a 8.00 on Beam earning her a red ribbon and a 7.30 for Floor which is a white ribbon. Then at the end of the meet they had a fun little handstand competition and then they all got a scrunchie for participating.

Gymnastics

We just got Olivia's gymnastics pictures back last night...

Isn't she sweet though??? Her next meet is on April 18th and she is excited for that!

First Meet

This past Saturday Olivia had her very 1st gymnastics meet. She has been in gymnastics since she was about 2 years old...we started off in a parent/tot class with some friends and she has worked her way up to level 4. Liv goes 1 night a week for 3 hours (her coach wants her their 2 nights but we said no for now), and she has come along way in her skills since school has started. I think this girl is on her hands doing handstands more then she's on her feet...it's obvious that she loves it!

This weekend Liv decided that she only wanted to compete in two events for her 1st time and opted for the vault and bars. On the vault she scored an 8.5  & received a blue ribbon (the best

 you can get), and on bars her score was 7.0 & received a white ribbon (3rd best ribbon you can

 get). In addition to receiving her ribbons she also got a cute sling back back-pack and a lanyard with gymnastics written on it...gifts that they all got for entering in the meet. We took video of her and if I can figure out our new video camera I will post the video...it's so cute!
