Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to School They'll Go (insert whistle)...

Yes, tomorrow is the big day...all four of them are going to school! Bella can't wait (she even created an "I get to go to school" song & dance), Liv is looking forward to it but I think a little nervous and the older two have mixed feelings on this subject!

How is mom feeling about this day you may be wondering...."Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to School They'll Go (insert whistle)"...Yes I'm looking forward to it!!! I will miss our awesome relaxing schedule as I spoke about some posts ago, but as of right now my patience are SHOT & they need to go back. I'm really not looking forward to the homework stresses and all of the chauffeuring but my sanity will take the trade-off!

More on their 1st days tomorrow!

Book Advice

Thanks to those of you that left the book advice, and to those of you that didn't, I'm so disappointed (I'm still taking ideas if you want to redeem yourselves)! :) Those book ideas were great and I can't wait to dive into them!

~Carrie, Yes I have read just about all of Nicholas Sparks' books and I have to say I LOVE them too...he needs to start whipping some more out!!

~For those of you that haven't read or heard about the Stephanie Plum Series...I highly recommend them (if you are a prude or are looking for something sophisticated & educational then this isn't for you). They are so funny and all around entertaining!

Bella Loves the Tag!!

Bella's snugglie since she was an infant has been a elephant blankie that we call Ellie. She has always needed it when tired and for the longest time we thought she just liked to just hold on it & snuggle. When she was about 2yrs or so we discovered what her true love of Ellie was....the TAG! When she is tired she likes to rub her finger nail along the tag and if we are in the car and don't have Ellie she uses the tag on her car seat. When we were coming back from MN in July I decided I better get a little video of this before she grows out of it...too cute!!

This clip you'll get to see the Ellie & Car Seat Rub:

This morning Bella hopped into bed with Don and I for a morning snuggle. While we were cuddling she started to rub my nose and says "my tag"...such a silly girl!

New Blogger

I'm happy to announce that my 12 year old baby is now a blogger! I thought that it may be a fun way for her to start journaling (modern style). I'm so excited for her to start doing this not only because she will be capturing her youth in writing but it is also a great learning tool for her as well!!

Happy Blogging Bailey!

**Her blog will be invite only as I am sure you all can understand why!

Olympic Results

Way to go Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson! If you're not following the Olympics Nastia Liukin took gold and Shawn Johnson took silver in Women's Gymnastics Individual all-around! I really wanted my West Des Moines, IA girl, Shawn, to get the gold but at least someone from USA got it! This is how much I love the Olympics...I was watching their medal ceremony last night and had tears running down my face!

Also, way to go Christian Cantwell who took silver in shot put!! Cantwell is a Missouri boy and he went to Mizzou!

Not Much To Say

So I'm sitting here in the mood to blog but I've got nuttin' to say!!!

Today we went to the pool with some friends of ours and then Bail & Liv each brought a friend home to play for a few hours. Tonight we went to dinner with Don at the dining hall, came home and have been watching the Olympics (GO USA and Michael Phelps is AWESOME)!

See what I mean nuttin' to say!! Since I'm at a loss for words today I want you to speak to me! I have been reading the Stephanie Plum Series by Janet Evanovich and love them but I only have one left in the series. This is where I want to hear from you...please leave in my comments some of your favorite reads!!!! Once the kids are back in school I'll actually have a little bit of time to do some more reading!

Ok now think hard...what are you favs???

So Blessed

**Update** My guy friends are AWESOME too!! (sorry Tony)! :)

I have to tell you that I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family & great friends!!

Tonight was mom's night out again, and my hubby, who has been busting his hump at work, was kind enough to take the kids so I could go out. Normally this isn't a big deal but during training camp it is...he is so dog tired by the time he gets home we pretty much just chill and the kids & I take care of the normal mundane house stuff. Well tonight while I was out with my girlfriends my sweet husband cleaned our room for me...trust me it has been a mess all summer. I have taken to using our chair & cedar chest as my closet (I have ALWAYS been like this...my mom can attest to that) and have really not wanted to waste my time with fixing it but he did...I'm sure the poor guy was just sick of looking at it but nonetheless it is very appreciated!! Thanks Babe and I LOVE YOU!

Next, I just want to say how grateful I am for all of the wonderful friends that I have! For whatever reason, luck or God's hand, I am surrounded by such awesome women and I truly cherish the time that we get to spend together whether you are near or far!! I love ya girls!!

Olympics

I have to say we are LOVING the Olympics!! I have always loved watching both the summer & winter games, and I think that it's cool that my children are really getting into it too. Nicholas, especially, has taken to them...I have heard him yelling at the TV numerous times "PULL, PULL, PULL" (If you are unfamiliar with swimming this is what is yelled at the swimmers...yes he has heard his mommy yelling it at him too)! :) He is so into it and motivated by these games that at the pool today he hopped into the swim lane and started to swim laps, then raced his sister and asked to race one of our guards (Nico swam free & the guard swam fly)...watch out Micheal Phelps!

Nico also complained half of the time at the pool because he wanted to get back home and sink back into watching the Olympics!

Maybe some day we'll have our own Olympian! Olivia has stated that she'd like to go for gymnastics and that was long before she even watched these!
