Prayer Request Update

Thank you to those who have been praying for our friend Mike, and I ask that you continue to pray until the family has firm answers to what is going on with his health. I can tell you that he completed a series of test this week that led the doctors to find a small spot on his brain. The good news is that it's not a tumor, but the bad news is that they think he may have had a small stroke that led to the seizure. For those of you that know Mike, I'm sure are just as shocked as I am about this. For those of you that do not know him, he's very athletic...working out everyday & if not working out he's water skiing, slender, great blood pressure, and low cholesterol.

God has answered our first set of prayers by giving answers as to what could possibly be going on...now let's pray that whatever caused this possible stroke, be something that is easily treated.

Many blessings to you and your families!

Back to School=Back to Germs

Uggh!! Yesterday Bail had a dentist appt (2 fillings) @ 2PM and it was to last about an hour....which meant I probably wouldn't be able to make it to school pick-up at 3:10 so I had a friend bring the other two home. She brought them home and then she and I chatted for a few minutes. While chatting there were only two of my children out there with me...I should have known at this point that something wasn't quite right because my kids like to be involved in all of my conversations (can drive me crazy).

My friend left and I headed into the house to find Nico and Liv laid out on the couch. Nico's tummy has been hurting for about two days (but nothing else) and Liv was all buddled up in a blanket. When I asked what was wrong, very sad little tears strolled down her check as she exclaimed the she had a headache, she was freezing, and her lower back hurt. Anytime this child says she has a headache 90% of the time it = a fever and I was right.

Needless to say she is home with Bella and I, and I'm hoping for a quick recovery & that it doesn't spread through the rest of them (the older two would be uber bummed if they had to miss the game tomorrow)!

BTW the Tigers take on SEMO tomorrow with 6PM kick-off...go TIGERS!!

Rainy Day Fun

This what happens when a mom and her three year old are bored on a rainy day:

Day 6 of Preschool

This is what saved us from a preschool meltdown today (Tuesday it was Angie):

She got her brand new Nike tennis shoes on Tuesday night and was very excited to wear them to school! She was a bit cranky when I woke her up with the usual "I don't want to go to school", but once she saw her shoes (& I think some encouragement from daddy) it changed her tune!

She needed to take a picture of mommy's shoes too
(mine aren't brand new...I didn't want to flood mine out with the rain):

Any ideas of what may save us from meltdown next week?

"It's Raining, It's Pouring..."

I just have to say that it totally amazes me that we, in the Midwest, can feel the effects of a hurricane! It's raining cats & dogs today! This weather makes want to curl up in bed with a good book...wake me when the sun is out! :)

I hope you all can stay dry today!

Out of the Mouths of Babes #14

This morning Bella comes in to our bedroom and has this swet conversation with me:

B: "Mommy can I lay with you?" (we both slept in a little...perfect day for it because it's rainy today (rain from Hurricane Gustav))
M: "Sure, let's get you a pillow"
B: "Mommy where are the kids?"
M: "They are at school"
B: "But mommy I'm hungry!"
M: "let's go downstairs and get something to eat"
B: "But who's gonna lay with daddy?" (he can back home from dropping the kids off at school for a little nap)
M: "He'll be fine!"

On the way downstairs:

B: "If the kids don't have homework today can we go to the pool Momma?"
M: "Honey the pool is closed until next summer"
B: "Can we go next summer?"
M: "We sure can"
B: "Thank you momma!"

In the Kitchen she looks outside and sees that it's rained and says:

B: "Oh no pool today! "

As you can tell she is having a hard time grasping the fact that the pool is closed until next summer...she thinks that we should be able to use it all year long.

"Foto Fun" Day

I'm going to start something new called "Foto Fun"...these will be fillers for days when I feel like sharing but don't really have anything to say (I know hard to believe right)!

On "Foto Fun" day I will share one of my amateur photos that I think is fun, interesting, good, etc, and I will pick one day of the week to do this!

Here is my first installment (I guess it's really my second because the beach photo would be considered my first):

Photo was taken in Homer Spit, Alaska on 7/12/06
(To Don & I this photo is reminiscent of one that would be used for a puzzle)

Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts on my photos!

Have a great day!
Sherri
