Another Prayer Request

Please keep one of our coaches wives, Sharryn, in your prayers. Doctors found cancerous tumors in her father's stomach in June, and they have now have been told that he only has "weeks" to live.

Many thanks & blessings to you all!!

A Day with Red Bull in Nascar

Pull out anything that I have ever done without my wife or children being involved, and this was hands down the coolest thing I have ever done in my life!!! I think I am the most blessed person on the face of the earth, not only do I have the hottest and most beautiful women in the world as my devoted and loving wife, I have 4 perfect children that I love watching grow up.

God has given me the best job in the world, at the best school in the world, my job is really my hobby, I don’t view it as work, the day I do, I will probably get out of it. I have been blessed to be around some cool things in sports and entertainment, Kenny Chesney did laundry in my office, I worked out with Rascal flats in our weight room, I poured beers for Joe Montana and Marcus Allen when I worked for the chiefs, I worked with anyone that was anything in the sport of Pro Beach Volleyball, I have been around numerous Sports Illustrated cover shoots, commercials, documentaries, Heisman Candidates.

I can honestly say this day was up there with all of that. I went to be a spectator last Friday, but I left hooked for life with an insight that most fans never get. When we were walking around with Jay, we meet a guy that came up and gave Jay the international symbol of friendship and a big smile and handshake and introduced himself as Jimmy Johnson, by the way, he has won the last 2 Sprint Cup trophies and is in the lead for this year, and the guy that won this race. We gave Dale Jr. a Mizzou helmet, Dale Jr is to Nascar is what Tiger is to Golf as far as the fans are concerned, but when you get to meet him, he is just a cool guy, just like Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, Chase Daniel, Brett Favre, all of them are just cool guys, they are just like you and me, except they have some exceptional talents. More important to me was meeting all the guys that work in the Pits and the Garages, the guys that “do” all the work, those are the guys that I can identify with, and I saw how they did things and looked at ways we can do things around here and in our daily job at the office. What you see on Sunday at the race is just the tip of the iceberg, it is a culmination of a mad race that restarts every week on Thursday when the trucks and staff reach the track, and they do this circus act 38 weeks a year!!!!

What an amazing operation and I can’t thank my good friend Jay Frye enough for allowing me to be a part of this experience! Our next goal will be getting Jay to be the equipment manager for a day and work our National Championship game in Miami!!! (cross your fingers) There is not a race that week and he has us penciled in on his schedule.

Tiger Ranking for Week 5

The polls came out yesterday and our Tigers are currently ranked #4 in the AP poll and #3 in the USA Today poll. It was nice having a BYE weekend...watching all of those upset games on Saturday made us grateful to not be apart of that! Hopefully our team got just enough rest this past week to be able to pull off a victory in Nebraska this weekend...we haven't won in Lincoln in 30 years...break that string boys!

Make sure you tune on Saturday...the game will be a national cable telecast on ESPN with kickoff at 8 p.m.

Out of the Mouths of Babes #15 & #16

I just told Bella to that she needed to take her pajamas upstairs and put them in the laundry room. She told me no and that she was trying to find her shoes. I told her that I would find them but she needed to take her PJs upstairs and she said, "I don't feel like doing that crap"!

Then she opens the shoe cabinet to find her flip flops and the shoes come pouring out....to which she exclaims, "oh crap"!

Apparently, my children feel that this is an acceptable word to be using...bring out the soap!!!

Please Pray...

**Update...baby Jackson was sent home yesterday around 11:30 and from what I hear is doing much better. I think it was just some kind of virus causing his issues (not RSV...that test came back negative) . Glad you're feeling better Jackson!**

...for my friend Christin's baby, Jackson, who is 5 1/2 months old. They are currently at the hospital with him as he is experiencing some very labored breathing...they have him on oxygen as they try to figure out what's going on.

Please pray for baby Jackson to recover from what ever it is that is causing the labored breathing and for the doctor's to figure out what is causing this!

Chrisitn's blog is private so if you have any kind words for the Stoners please leave them here or email me and I'll be sure to get them to her!

Many Thanks!!

Booby Ambush!!!

**Warning to my male readers, this post may be TMI for you!**

This one had me CRACKING up, so I had to document it:

Don had gotten home from practice earlier today and we were all just relaxing watching the IU game (sorry about the loss Uncle Mitchy) when the doorbell rings. Oh crap...who is that?!?! By this point Don was falling asleep on the couch and I was in still in my PJs (tank top, no bra and shorts). So I quick get up and run up to my room so I can at least put a bra on to be somewhat presentable to open the door. By the time I reach the top of my stairs I've got my shirt already off and I'm running into my room. As I'm running into my room I hear yelled from my left side, "HOLY CRAP! That's GROSS mom!". I had forgotten that I had sent Nico up to my room to get something for me, and the poor guy got a little, ok big show! He then goes running out of my room yelling, "Oh my gosh, I just got a Booby Ambush! Yuck"!! OMG, I was laughing sooo hard at that! Of course daddy's comment was, "someday you'll appreciate an ambush son"!

Now I need to go find the number of a good psychologist for the poor boy!

Pie Outcome...

...it actually turned out good and everyone liked it! Yeah Me!!!!

Lessons to be learned:
  1. never judge a book (pie) by its cover (crust)
  2. looks can be deceiving
  3. just because there's a little smoke doesn't always make for a bad outcome
