Our Cabin in Florida

On spring break we stayed at a place called Grayton Beach State Park...it is in the panhandle between Destin & Panama City. We each stayed in our own cabin the had two bedrooms, bathroom, living room, kitchen & screened in porch. The master bedroom had a queen size bed & dresser, and the other bedroom had two twin beds & a dresser.

This 1st photo you can see the cabins behind us....that is were the Bernskoetters (they left side) & O'Connors (the right side) stayed:

This is the living room/dining room area:

Couch by day...Nico's bed by night:

Our Bedroom:

This is still our bedroom - ignore the junk :)...(when I took the photos Bella was napping so I didn't get a photo of the girls room):

The girls stayed in the bedroom...Bailey & Olivia each had a bed & Bella slept in the Pack n' Play. Nico slept on the futon in the living room...next year I think the two older ones will have the room and the two younger on the futon (who knows that will probably change).

More on Spring Break

Here are some photos from Spring Break.

This one is one of the five dolphins we saw:

This one is of all of the kids except Ryan (he was up at the cabin). They all worked on the sand castle:

Easter Sunday

More on spring break....

We all drove all day Saturday until we got to Mobile, AL. Our friend, Ms. Kathy, was so kind to let us spend the night at her house once we got to Mobile, and we hopefully didn't inconvenience her as she was in Columbia visiting her family, the Catons! It was so nice to be able to have the comforts of a home for our travels rather then stay in a hotel (the O'Connors & Bernskoetters opted for a hotel stay that night). We woke up on Easter morning, got packed up, and went to iHop for breakfast.

These are photos from iHop (dad doesn't look all that thrilled):

After breakfast it was time to hit the road for our 2 hour drive to Grayton Beach. We wanted to take the scenic route over and the rest wanted to take the interstate to get there faster (they didn't really get much more accomplished then we did by getting there early but that's ok it was their own choice). Our scenic route took us through Pensacola which was fun because we went there for spring break a few years ago and stayed with our great friends, the Serbus', when they lived there...we had an AWESOME time on that trip. So we decided to go check out the beach that we had so much fun at last time and relive that trip a little.

Letter People Day

At CCS part of the Kindergarten curriculum is to learn the letters of the alphabet and by doing this they have the Letter People Program. Each week the teachers introduce a new letter/letter person and this helps them learn all about that letter for the week in a fun manner. They learn how properly write the letter both upper and lower case, they learn words that start with the letter, and so on. Also, each week the kids have a homework assignment that correlates with the letter of the week. On this assignment the have to write their name , date, the letter both upper & lower case, write three words that start with the letter and draw a picture of that word. Then at the end of the year the teachers put them all together, bind them in a book and give them to us. They are so sweet...it's amazing to see how much your child's writing has changed from August til April. Well they just finished the letters last week and they had letter people day today. They got to choose a letter to dress up as, have a parade through school, have projects they work on and then get together with their big friends (5th graders ).

Olivia as Beautiful Buttons...her shirt is blue, w/buttons in the shape of a B, and her blue jeans have butterflies on them:

Out of the Mouths of Babes #5

I think I'm going to have to start washing Don's mouth out with soap every time he curses & every time Bella pops one of her phrases off!!

Here is her latest: Chloe was trying to eat something on the table, Bella noticed her doing and said, "Chloe get down" When she didn't get down, Bella started to march over to her and as she was on her way over to the table she says "I'm going to beat your ass!" (this is all her dad)!

Open your mouth daddy because here comes the soap!!

Easter Basket Hunt

This year Easter was a little different for us as we were traveling for Spring Break. Because of this mom emailed the Easter Bunny to see if he could fill and hide our baskets early on Saturday, and he did. So on Saturday morning we woke the kids up @ 6:30 am to start their hunt. When they were done with their hunt we got them dressed, feed, and had to leave by 8:00 am because we had to meet the O'Connors & Bernskoetters at CCS to pull out of town for our Spring Break adventures. Here are some photos of the basket hunt (some of these are a little blurry - sorry):
